History
JOR Engineering was founded by Omar Rood, Jr., P.E. and incorporated in
October 1987 in Crookston, MN. Primarily working with watersheds in the northern
tier of the Red River of the North Basin, JOR found its nitch. In 1995, Charles Anderson, P.E. joined Omar as co-owner of JOR
and opened the Alexandria, MN office to work with watersheds in the remainder of
the Basin.
The firm has grown out of need for our skills and has full-time and part-time
professional civil engineers, GIS, GPS, and CAD specialists, and additional
personnel.
JOR specializes in water resource management relating to flood control, stormwater, and water quality. This work has included extensive project
coordination with various federal, state, county and local agencies, as well as
private organizations and landowners.
JOR serves as the District Engineers for the Bois de Sioux Watershed
District, Two Rivers Watershed District, and Roseau River Watershed District.
Other clients include the Red Lake Watershed District, Middle Snake Tamarac
Rivers Watershed District, Joe River Watershed District, United States Army
Corps of Engineers, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, lake associations and various
Minnesota counties & cities.
JOR is up to date with the latest technology and policies regarding stormwater
and watershed management. Our professional services include; planning, survey,
design, construction, operation and maintenance of projects. Projects range from
drainage systems to floodwater storage impoundments and flood levees.
